GOING GREEN

Recycling Crocs at Central

Do you have old Crocs that you don't wear?  Would you like to see them recycled?  When you bring in old Crocs, they will be put into a collection bin and taken to a recycling plant that will make new shoes for kids who live in poverty.  When you bring in the Crocs, you will also receive a ticket for a free cup of fruit punch!  We will be collecting Crocs or Crocs look-a-likes during the L's in the cafeteria.  So help us made a difference in kids' lives!

Rossman Going Green with Juice Bag Recycling

Rossman’s Green Team convened on Thursday, April 30th for our first juice pouch recycling event. Thanks to the wonderful help from our Rossman family we recycled 673 juice pouches and more importantly kept 4 bags of garbage from reaching the area landfills. Our student helpers removed straws and straw wrappers. Then our teacher helpers slit the bottom of the pouches and sent them to be rinsed. The final step involved placing the pouches upside down on a rack (thanks to Mr. Gundrum for his handy work) and using towels to finish the drying process. The pouches were sent off to Terracycle to be made into lunch bags, backpacks, pencil pouches and more. The school will receive a check in the amount of $13.46…great work Rossman!! We will have one more recycling event at the end of the year. Please let Mrs. Gundrum know if you would like to help: gundrum@hartfordjt1.k12.wi.us.
